Eco-Friendly Garden Tips

Eco-Friendly Garden Tips

In other articles we’ve looked at the some of the world’s biggest environmental issues. But often the first step in making a positive impact on these problems begins at home – which is why this article will focus on the concept of eco-friendly gardens. The advantages of an eco-friendly garden are endless.

The Birds and the Bees

With enough dedication these environmental wonderlands can even encourage wildlife and promote the preservation of otherwise threatened animal species. One visitor wrote to explain how using recycled material from around the house and property can be used to provide sanctuaries for bees, birds and other friendly critters. A shallow pool with easy access sides can even make a cozy home for frogs and other amphibians.

The Flowers and the Trees

Ok, we might be getting carried away with the Dean Martin reference but organic gardening is an excellent way to help reverse some of the damage from forest clear cutting and the mammoth paved parking lots found in most urban centers today.

Another environmentally conscious visitor was able to ensure continuous vegetation by

“..incorporating many different types of plants to make sure some part of the garden is flowering all year long.”

This idea obviously will not work for areas of the world with extended winter seasons but planting and maintaining an evergreen tree can make the same impact.

Food for the Soul… and the Environment

Eco-friendly gardening goes beyond eye-pleasing atmospheres and environmental preservation. When properly utilized the concept can produce organically grown fruits and vegetables and absolutely ensure you and your family enjoys only the very best food with no chemical exposure.

Did you know..

  • High levels of residual chemicals remain on our vegetables even after washing

  • The danger of pesticide use increases as manufactures combine chemicals

  • Natural process uses biological methods to protect against pests (not chemicals)

  • Growing your own vegetables is safe and EASY!

As you can see, eco-friendly gardening can play a factor in everyday life and make a positive impact on the environmental. It all starts at home. Check out our FREE guide to organic, eco-friendly gardening. Happy gardening!
